Setting up Sumup Solo reader
1. Getting an API Key
To connect with SumUp, you need an API key.
You can find it in your SumUp account:
https://me.sumup.com/dashboard
- Go to “Settings” > “For Developers”:
- Open “API Keys”:

Click “Create” and give your new API key a name.

Your API key will now appear. Copy it somewhere safe so you can use it later.
2. Pairing the Solo Reader
- Make sure your account is logged out on the Solo Reader:
Swipe down from the top of the screen > “Settings” > “Info” > “Logout” - Restart the reader
- Do not log in. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the menu
- Go to “Connections”
- Go to “API”
- Click “Connect”
- The device token of the reader will now be displayed. Keep this screen open for now
Note: If this token is not displayed and the device appears as “connected automatically”, you need to contact your previous software provider to have it unlinked.
3. Activation in Onlinefact
- Go to the Onlinefact back office (admin.onlinefact.be)
- Navigate to “Cash Register” > “Settings” > “Payment Methods”
- Find “SumUp” in the list and expand the section
- Enable the payment method, enter your API key and device token, then click “Connect”
- Don’t forget to click “Save” at the bottom of the page
